CURRENT ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES
The Reason for God As Christians, it’s natural that we encounter those with skepticism and objections to our faith. Through a DVD based study, Timothy Keller, author of The Prodigal God, will help us learn how to engage others in dialogue on six common objectives to Christianity. We’ll discuss tough questions like: Hasn’t science disproved Christianity? Why does God allow suffering? How can God send good people to Hell! Whether you’re looking to strengthen and solidify your own faith or become a more potent witness for Christ, this study is for you. Please join us. Andy Markievich, Teacher
The Book of James James’ teachings concentrate on the works that exemplify that justification. James was writing to Jews to encourage them to continue growing in this new Christian faith. James emphasizes that good actions will naturally flow from those who are filled with the Spirit and questions whether someone may or may not have a saving faith if the fruits of the spirit cannot be seen. He also gives encouragement to believers to be patient in suffering, praying and caring for one another and bolstering our faith through fellowship. Tom Sworen & Eric Mummau, Teachers
Study on Esther Hadassah, Esther’s Jewish name, comes from the word for ‘myrtle’, a tree whose leaves only release their fragrance when they are crushed. Esther’s true heroism only appeared when she and her people were in terrible danger. The name ‘Esther’ means ‘hidden’: Esther’s real identify as a Jewess was hidden for many years. The Book of Esther shows the choice we make between seeing the hand of God in our circumstances in life and seeing things as merely coincident. God is the sovereign Ruler of the universe and we can be assured that His plans will not be moved by the actions of mere evil men. Richard Herritt, Teacher
